The Greenville Police Department's Youth Academy provides high school students with an inside look at local law enforcement. During this one-week interactive program, students will see firsthand what it takes to be a police officer, explore career opportunities in law enforcement, and learn about the day-to-day operations of the Greenville Police Department.
Participants will meet officers from a variety of GPD divisions, who will share their experience - providing valuable information designed to keep teens safe and ensure positive interactions with law enforcement.
The 2018 Youth Academy will be held July 30 to August 3, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is a $20 application fee, and lunch will be provided each day.
The Youth Academy is open to students who are currently in 9th, 10th or 11th grade (2017/18 school year) and who will be going into 10th to 12th grade next school year (2018/19 school year).
