Location
Zone 1 is 2.82 square miles with a population of approximately 8,000 and includes the downtown Central Business District and the western portion of the city.
Officers
Twenty-six patrol officers are assigned to Zone 1. Officers work four overlapping shifts and provide 24-hour coverage.
Priorities
With a continued focus on officer presence within the Central Business District, Zone 1 priorities include using resources such as bicycles and ATVs to enhance officer mobility in congested areas; patrolling the Swamp Rabbit Trail and working with residents and businesses to address issues related to the transient population in the area.
