Welcome Center Event Staff Supervisor

The City of Greenville is currently seeking part-time staff to assist our team with supporting a vibrant and welcoming space at the Prisma Health Welcome Center at Unity Park. Under the direct supervision of the Unity Park Programs Manager, the position will perform a variety of tasks, including providing general information to park users and guests, opening and closing the Prisma Health Welcome Center before and/or after Welcome Center events and assisting Welcome Center staff with set up and tear down of events.                                    

Rate: $17/hour

POSITION EXPECTATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides high quality customer service and effectively communicates with park visitors
  • Performs Welcome Center opening and closing procedures.
  • Ability to recognize problems as they arise and bring them to the attention of City Staff.
  • Assists in crowd control, enforcing event regulations and rules.
  • Assists with setup and breakdown of events, including but not limited to placement of tents, tables and chairs, hanging signage, basic AV needs, etc.
  • Coordinates with on-site vendors as required.
  • Answers general questions from the public.
  • Adheres to City policies, follows safety guidelines and exercises good judgment in all aspects of responsibility.
  • Willingness to perform other duties as needed

Physical Requirements

  • Requires climbing, reaching, bending, pulling, and lifting. Some work is done in varying environments, including hot and cold temperatures
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Mandatory Requirements

  • Must be 21 years or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record
  • Ability to engage in regular, predicable work
  • Ability to pass drug screening and background check
  • Ability to operate an iPad and enter work orders into Cityworks software program
  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to sit in a hot or cold environment
  • Available nights, weekends and some holidays
