The mission of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund is to generate increased public support for the law enforcement profession by permanently recording and appropriately commemorating the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers and to provide information that will help promote law enforcement safety.

The Officer Down Memorial Page

The Officer Down Memorial Page, Incorporated (ODMP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring America's fallen law enforcement heroes. More than 20,000 officers have made the ultimate sacrifice in the United States and it is with great honor that the ODMP pays a lasting tribute to each of these officers by preserving their memories within its pages. All who visit the ODMP will be deeply moved by the countless stories of selfless courage and heroism exhibited by officers who lost their lives while serving and protecting the citizens of this great nation.

Concerns of Police Survivors

Concerns of Police Survivors, Incorporated provides resources to assist in the rebuilding of the lives of surviving families and affected co-workers of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty as determined by Federal criteria. Furthermore, C.O.P.S. provides training to law enforcement agencies on survivor victimization issues and educates the public of the need to support the law enforcement profession and its survivors.

Allen Lee Jacobs

Service Details

  • 28 years old
  • 4 1/2 years of service

Members of the Greenville Police Department's Crime Response Team made field contact with an adult male subject. Shortly after the officers approached him, the subject began running away. The officers pursued the subject on foot, and during the chase, the subject began firing at the officers. Officer Allen Lee Jacobs was struck numerous times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
