This week downtown streets will be filled with fans and the joy of basketball, as Greenville hosts the Southeastern Conference (SEC) women's basketball tournament at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.

With games starting Wednesday and continuing through Sunday, a little planning will help you keep your eye on the ball. Here's what you need to know before you go to the games or enjoy a night out downtown among larger crowds.

Parking

The Church Street Garage, adjacent to the Well, will be available Wednesday through Sunday for $10 event parking.

The Commons Garage will be held for hotel and monthly parkers from Wednesday through Friday, but available for $10 event parking on Saturday and Sunday.

The City recommends fans park in the North Lauren Street Deck, Spring Street Garage or Richardson Street Garage throughout the tourney weekend. While the walk is a bit longer, regular parking rates apply (daily maximum of $7).

Walking Safely

Greenville Police recommend pedestrians walking from downtown proceed north on Main Street to NOMA Square (at the Hyatt Hotel), and then heading east along Beattie Place to the arena. Police officers will be on hand to direct traffic at major intersections.

Photo Ops for Fans: Check out the giant SEC flags on display at GatherGVL and Yee-Haw Brewing Co., or snap your selfie in front of the big ball at Falls Park! Don't forget to find your team on Main Street - decals for each team will run the length of downtown.

Downtown Dribble: This free event, starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, will give kids ages 5-14 the chance to dribble from NOMA Square to the FanFare event at the Well. The first 750 kids to register receive a free basketball, event t-shirt and ticket to the 4:30 p.m. semifinal game on Saturday. Register at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2023-downtown-dribble-tickets-514943318327.

Women in Business Night: In honor of Women's history month, the Well will host a special evening for women, starting at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 2. Women can network with some of the Upstate's most influential business leaders and enjoy an evening of women's basketball. Tickets available here: https://www.ticketmaster.com/event/2D005E4185F823E3.
