[ARCHIVED] Homicide Investigation, 100 Shemwood Lane

On 12-8-16 at approximately 10:11 PM Greenville Police received two 911 calls, one call was in reference to a firearm discharge being heard. The second call was for a gunshot victim at the 31 building. When officers arrived on scene they did locate a gunshot victim in apartment 31B and began rendering aide. The 29 year old male gunshot victim was pronounced deceased on scene by EMS.

A canvas of the area was conducted in search for evidence related to this case.

The Greenville County Coroner has identified the gunshot victim as Fred Eugene Anderson DOB: 10/2/1987. Preliminary reports indicate that around 10 PM two unknown suspects entered the unlocked apartment with their face covered demanding money. Shortly after, several gunshots were heard and Anderson was located with a gunshot injury. A full autopsy is still pending.

Greenville Police Detectives are leading this active investigation and will continue working with Greenville County Forensics and Greenville County Coroner’s Office.
At this time, no one has been charged however the case is still an active investigation.
