Homeowner Workshops

The Greenville County Human Relations Commission and the City of Greenville will host two workshops next month to share information about a variety of resources that are available for homeowners. Don't miss the opportunity to attend one of the following workshops:

Thursday, May 4
6 - 7 p.m.

Viola Street Community Center

Tuesday, May 9
Noon - 1 p.m.
David Hellams Community Center.

At the workshops, we will explore some of the resources and options available to homeowners and provide guidance on what you should know and do if someone offers to buy your house. Door prizes and a light meal will be provided. For more information, call 864-467-7095.  

Fair Housing Compliance Training

The Greenville County Human Relations Commission is offering Fair Housing Compliance Training on Thursday, April 27, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Greenville County Square. The training will feature two tracks: Track 1 is recommended for housing counselors, social service providers, property managers, community planners, code enforcement and tenants and Track 2 is recommended for real estate agents, mortgage originators, lenders, builders and compliance officers. TD Saturday Market Accepts EBT

The TD Saturday Market is a seasonal market providing locally-grown fresh produce, gourmet foods, fresh-cut flowers and artisan goods to downtown Greenville each week. The TD Saturday Market is open May 6 to October 28 (excluding October 14), from 8 a.m. to noon on Main Street at McBee Avenue. Throughout the season, the market offers live music and interactive events that appeal to a wide variety of interests. Additional market special events include Penske Touch-a-Truck day on June 3 and the Autumn Harvest on Oct. 28. Most market vendors accept cash, check, credit, debit and EBT. If you spend at least $5 on your EBT card, you'll receive a free $10 token for the purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables at the TD Saturday Market!

Volunteers recently completed work on another Habitat home in the Sterling neighborhood. 

Sterling Community Groundbreaking

In celebration of Community Development Week, Habitat for Humanity  in partnership with the City of Greenville, Christ Church, and Homes of Hope  will break ground on Joshua's Way, a new affordable housing development in the Sterling Community. The groundbreaking event will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 25, at the 502 Jenkins Street site.

Joshua's Way is a project that will create six, single-family homes and about seven rental units for seniors in the Sterling Community. The project is scheduled for completion in 2020.
